Birmingham International Airport

LIMOUSINE AND SHUTTLE SERVICE


Limousine and shuttle services operate by reservation only. To make arrangements for shuttle or limousine service, please contact one of the companies listed under limousine and shuttle service prior to your arrival at the airport.


TAXI SEVICE


Taxi service from the airport is available 24/7, with cabs located on the ground level directly outside the baggage claim area. BHM is served by several taxi companies, with each vehicle being independently owned and operated. For a list of companies, please link here .


RENTAL CARS


The BHM Rental Car facility is located in section 1B on the ground level of our parking deck and features a variety of options in rental car companies. All rental cars can be conveniently picked up and dropped off in the parking deck. If you have any inquiries concerning reservations, or in the event of a delayed flight, please contact your rental car company directly by linking here .

CELL PHONE LOT


The Cell Phone Lot is a parking area provided for drivers waiting to pick up arriving passengers. This lot accommodates up to 40 vehicles and is a free service with no time limit. Drivers are required to stay with their vehicles while waiting on their passengers to contact them by phone that they are ready for pickup. The Cell Phone Lot is located on Airline Drive.

Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is conveniently located near Interstates 59 and 20, less than 10 minutes' drive from downtown Birmingham. Parking is abundant, accessible, and affordable—just steps from the terminal entrances—and security is conveniently centrally located.


BHM is home to four major airlines, servicing over 100 daily flights to 25 cities for more than 2.6 million passengers each year: American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines. BHM also serves as a distribution point for air cargo in Central Alabama, shipping more than 23,000 tons of cargo.

ABOUT BHM


Established in 1931, The Birmingham Airport has been welcoming travelers to The Magic City and serving as Central Alabama's gateway to the sky for more than 80 years. Governed by the Birmingham Airport Authority since its establishment in 1986, the airport has evolved into a catalyst for growth and economic development for the entire Birmingham region. In 2008, the airport was renamed Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport to honor the world-changing legacy of late Birmingham civil rights activist Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth. In 2014, the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport completed its $201.6 million terminal modernization. The state's largest airport in terms of passenger traffic, BHM host five airlines with service to 18 airports in 15 cities, connecting Birmingham globally.
